progress is being made..

So I started to watch what I was eating and doing a little bit of exercise each day since January. Since I started, I have lost a total of 50lbs. I know that i still have a ways to go before i reach my goal weight but I'm just excited and proud of myself for the progress i have made so far. Some days, i do cheat and eat some junk food.. and some days i don't exercise at all! but i know that i am making healthier choices and i am a hell of a lot more active now than i was just a few months ago. I can't wait until i can post more pictures but this time the June 2012 picture will be the before! :)

Tattoo Time!

So I got a tattoo yesterday! I am super pleased with how it turned out! It means soo much more to me than just some song lyrics. Any time I am having a hard time I always think to myself  "you just have to let it be, there is nothing you can do to change the unchangeable" so now I have a visual reminder for when I'm feeling down about something. :)

I am already thinking of ideas for the next tattoo! :) cant wait!! #slightlyaddicted

Birthday Party!!!

On the right hand side is the birthday boy!! Austin turned 5 years old this year and the ONLY thing he wanted was a "bob the builder"/ construction themed birthday party! Sooo.. thats what he got! :)
I made these coloring books for putting in the loot bags.
These are all of the signs that we had placed around the party area!
More stuff that we had hanging up for decorations!
Contents of the goody bags! they also got to keep their hard hats, work belts, and the children got to win toy "tools" as prizes for the games me played :)
Hard hats and tool belts for when the children arrived at the party
I made this came myself, it was easy peasy!! chocolate cake, chocolate icing and the "dirt" is oreo cookie crumbs.
Austin using his "exacto knife" to open all his presents!
The party turned out really great!! I didn't get to take pics of the games that we played, but we played toss the bean bag into the back of the dump truck, and i had made "bricks" by painting old boxes and we had a game to see who could stack the "bricks" the highest! :) Another successful birthday party DONE!! now to start planning next years! Birthday party madness!!!!

Austins birthday party is in 5 days!! I've got sooo much stuff to get ready, but it's all going to be worth it because it is going to be one kick ass party! :P I'm doing a "bob the builder" theme, and I have been planning it for almost 3 months now! All the kids will receive their personalized hard hats, and tool belts as they arrive. I've got different building/construction games for them to play. I have literally been saving all sorts of boxes for months now and painting them to look like bricks so they can have a HUGE pile of "blocks" for building. All the food is going to be served in the back of dump trucks (lined of course! :P), clean paint trays and cans, and his cake is going to be pretty amazing too ( I am going to be making and decorating it myself). I will definitely be doing a post after the party so I can share the pictures of all my hard work, and of course of all the kids having a BLAST!!

Ombre Hair style

So I've been seeing alot of pictures and what not about this Ombre hair style and I figured I would give it a go. Using any kind of bleach in my hair really scares me (can you say fried hair much?!) but I figured, if worst comes to worst.. I could always chop off the ends. I started by applying bleach just to the very bottoms of my hair, then after about 10 minutes I added about another 2 inches or so of bleach, then 10 minutes after that... you guessed it, another 2 inches of bleach.
I am really happy with how it turned out.. my ends are a little dry and crispy but after some hardcore conditioning action, it looks pretty good for a first attempt. Will be doing this again, and I will try to post pictures of my own hair this time! :P

This is my hair after my first attempt. I've got a box of bleach and I'm ready to give it a go for attempt number 2!

DIY t-shirt bags!

So apparently I am obsessed with DIY projects today! They are all about t-shirts too! I stumbled upon this project on, once again, pinterest! (latest obsession BTW) I am totally going to try and make some of these, and when i do you can be certain I will be posting pics of them on here! I swear, deep down inside I want to be some kind of DIY queen! The only thing I'm worried about in making these.. is that I am going to be rocking my awesome bag, and BAAAM! my groceries are going to be all over the place! talk about embarrassing! If I can figure out a way to make sure the bottom is super safe and sturdy, I will definitely be making these for myself, friends, and whoever the hell else wants one! I suppose if I do have any grocery mishaps.. they would always make a super cute beach bag!http://www.moredesignplease.com/moredesignplease/2010/6/6/diy-recycled-t-shirt-tote-bag.html

Transforming T-shirts into a tank!

So I ran into this posting on pinterest, and i LOVE a simple cute DIY project so i gave it a shot! :) my first attempt doesn't quite look as good as the picture above, but i got the idea down!! I am totally going to the thrift stores to find myself some cute funky t-shirts and i am doing this until I've perfected it! http://www.crafterhoursblog.com/2011/08/tee-to-tank-tutorial-by-jen-from.html
